Movement
My movement practice is based in Bharathanatyam, Contemporary, and Modern dance. It is central to my work in unraveling my own individual journey of finding and understanding home, creating home, and discovering home. I’m also currently perplexed by and obsessed with time: time as home, time capturing home, time separating home, time as grief, and time as a never-ending forward motion.
Selected Works
“Through the Vortex” has been showcased at Kearny Street Workshop’s APAture 2023 and Shawl Anderson Dance Center’s AAPI Salon 2023.
Invited participant for Melisa Zulberti’s workshop at the 2024 Venice Biennale.
“kālá” created and shown in Residency with Unrehearsed Artist Residency Program 2024.
“- - . - . - / - . - - .” created and shown at Shawl Anderson Dance Center’s Anniversary Salon 2025.
My substack is very much a place of play and experimentation as I trip and fall to create multimedia work. I hope it’s a place of authentic, at times disjointed, sometimes healing, quirky good fun!
Writing and Multimedia
My work is inspired by the Asian American experience in the United States, really my Indian-American experience, and my search for home. Through a mix of memoirs, short stories, poetry, dance and photography, I focus on unraveling and understanding my own individual journey, creating loving spaces, and using story-telling as a form of activism. To say, I was here, we are here, and we matter.
